Something Napoleonic to start the year

2026-01-10 00:00:00

Welcome to the first Tenth Legion post of 2026, and the first new-ish releases of the year!    As I have posted previously, we are working on a methodical inspection and reorganisation of the Magister Militum range, and this time round, it is the turn of the Napoleonic British to get the treatment.

What we did in 2025 and what is planned for 2026

2026-01-01 00:00:00

One thing that I do with Baccus every year is look back at what we did over the previous twelve months and attempt to put some sort of projected framework of what we would like to achieve in the coming year.   I thought it would be interesting to see how a similar review would turn out for Tenth Legion.   So, let’s give it a go.

Refurbished Napoleonic French now available.

2025-11-07 00:00:00

Hi All,

It’s been fairly quiet from the Tenth Legion team, but that doesn’t mean that we have been idle.  Far from it!  One of the tasks that we have set ourselves is a comprehensive refurbishment of the mould stock and we have started with the major task of overhauling the Napoleonic infantry codes.

Coming soon...

2025-09-27 00:00:00

Hi All, many thanks for all the kind words and emails about our revamped Crusaders range which we released last week.   We aren’t resting on our laurels and the work on their opposition has been progressing apace.    The new style Saracen codes aren’t quite ready to be unleashed, but here’s a preview piccy of some of the spectacular Mameluke cavalry.

But…we aren’t stopping there and we’ve set our sights on the extensive Magister Militum Napoleonic ranges.    This is all part of the  continuing Tenth Legion strategy of presenting these wonderful 10mm sculpts in the best possible manner.

Crusaders given a make over!

2025-09-19 00:00:00

When we took on the Magister Militum 10mm ranges, we quickly decided that our work would fall into two parts.  Firstly, to ensure that the supply of these wonderful sculpts would be maintained, and secondly to expand and, hopefully, improve and expand the available offer.

Both are huge tasks, but the second part is very daunting.  I am delighted to say that the results of our first efforts are now available in the form of the Crusaders range.   What you see here will form the template of how we see Tenth Legion ranges will be presented in future.  The most important feature is our move to supplying figures in strips.   Yes, it’s a wee bit controversial in some quarters, but this really does make things a lot easier at every stage, from painting to basing.  Here is an example of what to expect:

We've become strippers...

2025-09-04 00:00:00

Hello All,

It’s been a little quiet from Tenth Legion of late.  It’s not that we are shy or anything, just more that we are very busy working behind the scenes.

The Magister Militum range is packed full of wonderful sculpts and we are working to present these in the best way possible.  One of the major changes that we are undertaking is converting the range from single castings to strips.

Macedonians added and collection at shows

2025-05-25 00:00:00

Just a quick note to say that we have added Macedonians to the Tenth Legion catalogue. All the codes now have accessible photographs and it’s much easier to order them.

One major difference to the figures is that you will see that the phalangites are now based on strips.   I know that it’s not a concept that everyone is happy with, but for formed troops in dense formations it makes life a lot easier when it comes to both painting and especially basing the finished units.
